Parking:

Paved at Loop 12; rolled gravel parking at the River Oaks Road entrance.

Picnic Facilities:

Tables and grills at both sections.

Trails:

¼-mile ADA trail at Loop 12; Natural surface trail at River Oaks Drive.

History:

The land was once part of the Miller Plantation-- “Millermore.”  It was a rallying point for blacks after the Civil War, and it continues to be a popular location for family reunions.  It is located near Joppa, one of the first Freedman communities in Dallas County. The Audubon Society conducts its winter bird count here.
