Student Internship Program Overview:
One of the more frequent questions, from persons aspiring to become full time emergency managers, is how do I gain the experience necessary to qualify for career positions in the emergency management profession? Most full time emergency management jobs have some level of direct emergency management experience. Usually 1 to 3 years of that experience must be directly related the field such as working in an emergency management office at the local, state or federal level.
One way Dallas County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management tries to help current college students and recent graduates gain work experience is through the Emergency Management Internship Program. We offer both paid and un-paid Internship Programs. Students in both graduate and undergraduate levels may qualify for this program. Recent college graduates will be considered.
