Vital records include, birth (including home births), death and marriages for Dallas County. We maintain vital records for thirty-one (31) cities in Dallas County. This does not include the City of Dallas, which serves as its own local registrar; located in the J. Erik Jonsson Central Library.

Birth and death records can only be issued to the individual or immediate family members of the individual, i.e. parents, siblings etc.

We issue approximately 6700 birth certificate's, 7100 death certificates and over 18,000 marriage license each year.
