campion south map

Campion Trail South was the first trail project that the City of Irving and Dallas Countyunder-took together. The trail begins at the County's Trinity River/ Mountain Creek Preserve (which is located where Hunter Ferrell Road turns into Nursery) and extends in a northern/northeastern direction for four miles to connect with Trinity View Park which is a major City of Irving recreational facility.

Numerous amenities (benches, shaded pavilions, interpretative signage, paved parking, and water fountains) are available alongside the trail.

A new extension to the west, the Lone Star Connection, now enables walkers, cyclists, and runners to continue their journey another seven miles to Grand Prairie where they can reach the Verizon Theatre for a concert, Lone Star Park for horse racing, and QuikTrip Park for a baseball game.
