Medical Membership Criteria
- Be at least 18 years of age and of good character
- Complete an online application, authorize and pass a criminal background check
- Read and sign a series of confidentiality agreements
Training Requirements
- Attend an MRC Orientation within first six months (online soon)
- Complete “Fundamentals of Preparedness” training (offered quarterly)
- Successfully complete National Incident Management courses IS-100.HCb and IS-700.a (self-paced, online)
- Complete one role-specific training and participate annually in at least one MRC training or activity.
Training Program
Volunteers, whether licensed medical professionals or non-medical individuals who come from all walks of life, must be trained for specific emergency response roles. Dallas County MRC has a robust training program which includes, online, classroom, drills, and exercises which are meant to prepare its members for local deployment to points-of-dispensing (PODs) or shelter clinics during a public health emergency.
