[Portion of Frank Crowley garage to be closed for repairs]
[Dallas, TX] – [An evaluation of the shoring in the Frank Crowley Courts Building "D" parking garage has resulted in a recommendation from the structural engineer to immediately close the structure. The garage is expected to be "out of service" for approximately a week in order to properly assess and erect additional support shoring. We are asking that visitors and jurors park at the public lot located across the street from the Frank Crowley Courts Building until further notice. This week County Administration has been working diligently to create viable parking and transportation options for all.]
We do anticipate parking being tight this week as a result of the precautions. However, Dallas County’s primary obligation is to the safety of visitors to the Criminal Courts building. Lori Bodino, District Court Administrator suggests that jurors and anyone with court business during this time consider alternate forms of transportation rather than trying to park, such as taking a bus or being dropped off by a friend or family member. County Administration recommends that only persons with critical and time-sensitive court business attempt to visit and park near the Criminal Courts building until the Frank Crowley parking garage is opened again. For those who do have pertinent business and must take their car, we advise that they arrive early in order to park in the commercial parking lot right across the street from the Frank Crowley Courts Building. Current commercial rates will apply; be prepared to bring cash.
Although we realize the temporary closure is inconvenient, Dallas County’s priority is the safety and well being of its residents. We will continue to explore other possible parking options. Jurors may call the Jury Services hotline with questions at: 214-653-3595.
