[Dallas, TX] – [The Aerial Spraying campaign got off to a great start last night; our crews got a lot done despite weather conditions. Wheels were up at 10:00pm and spraying began at 10:12pm. At midnight, a rain system moved into the spray block causing a rain delay. Both planes landed and the weather system was watched closely on radar until 2:00am. The balance of the spraying was postponed for completion for tonight. A total of 52,352 acres was sprayed of the 100,845 assigned block acreage. SEE ATTACHED MAP.]
Four planes will be ready to spray this evening. Spraying begins at 8:30pm for cities and 9pm in Dallas.
What we covered last night:
- All of University Park
- All of Highland Park
- Portion of Richardson
- Portion of Dallas (see map)
The priority tonight will be to complete the original block that we missed last night (see map) and will include the rest of Dallas (not reflected on this map but being rendered). On Saturday, weather permitting, crews will cover anything missed tonight. We anticipate having a new map, which will reflect an accurate picture of Dallas areas still needing coverage this afternoon.
Efficacy of the Aerial Spraying will require post-trapping process and data and will not be available for at least 24 hours after the spraying has been completed.
