Trails:  1-mile of bark covered pathways and a natural surface nature trail

History: Historic WPA-built park, c. 1936.  The design takes advantage of the natural contours of the land to channel run-off from rains into conduits and flumes that eventually empty into the artificial canal.  In the mid-1800’s, while trying to sign a treaty with local tribes, Sam Houston is rumored to have camped here.
