Dallas County Clerk Death Certificates Records Building - 509 Main Street, 2nd Floor, Suite 200, Dallas, Texas 75202 Death CertificatesThe Dallas County Clerk only has death records for persons who passed away in Dallas County, outside the City limits of Dallas. You must be a qualified applicant in order to apply for a death certificate (a parent including step, grandparent, or sibling). Any one else must have a signed (original) statement authorizing them (naming them) to pick up the death certificate. This statement must include a copy of your government issued I. D. The person named in your request must present their original government issued I. D. also.

The above information is required by state statute. Birth and death records are considered confidential information; therefore all requirements must be met. If you are unable to meet the requirements, please contact the State Bureau of Vital Statistics in Austin 1-888-963-7111. Our office only provides death certificates for deaths that occurred in Dallas County excluding the city limits of Dallas (Addison, Balch Springs, Carrollton, Cedar Hill, Cockrell Hill, Coppell, DeSoto. Duncanville, Farmers Branch, Garland, Glenn Heights, Grand Prairie, Highland Park, Hutchins, Irving, Lancaster, Las Colinas, Mesquite, Richardson, Rowlett, Sachse, Seagoville, Sunnyvale, University Park, and Wilmer). ***If the Death occurred within the City Limits of Dallas you will need to contact the City Vital Statistics Office at 214-670-3248 |
