Promotional Exam Announcement
This notification serves as the announcement of the promotional exam process for the positions listed below. In order to qualify to sit for the written examination, candidates must meet the minimum qualifications and register at the following location only: Dallas County Human Resources/Civil Service Department 509 Main Street, Room 101 (Records Building) Dallas, Texas 75052 Wednesday, December 14, 2011 through Friday, December 30, 2011 (8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) Please select the promotional level of interest to review all applicable information.
LIEUTENANT
The minimum requirements for the examination are as follows (all required work experience must be with the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department): Must have successfully maintained all State and Sheriff’s Department licensing/commissioning requirements and achieved one of the following: Served at least two (2) years as a Deputy III and have at least sixty (60) hours of college from an accredited college or university with a grade “C” or better; OR Served at least two (2) years as a Deputy III, two (2) years of continuous military service with an honorable discharge, and have thirty (30) hours of college from an accredited college or university with a grade “C” or better; OR Served six (6) continuous years as a Deputy III.
DETENTION SERVICE MANAGER
The minimum requirements for the examination are as follows (all required work experience must be with the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department): Must have successfully maintained all State and Sheriff’s Department licensing requirements and has achieved one of the following: Served one (1) year as a Detention Service Supervisor (DSS) and have fifteen (15) hours of college from an accredited college or university with a grade “C” or better; OR Two (2) years work experience as a Detention Service Supervisor (DSS).
