The Trinity River Trail, which is located near both Dallas County's Joppa Preserve/Lemmon Lake and the Trinity River Audubon Center, currently has a length of about 3.2 miles (as denoted in the above map as Phase 1 and the portion of Phase 2 prior to dash-lined circle) with construction being underway on another 0.7-mile beyond the Phase 2 dash-lined circle. This twelve-foot-wide trail is the beginning of what is anticipated by to be an extensive trail system along the Trinity River. The trail offers scenic views of both Little Lemmon Lake and Lemmon Lake which are popular stopping points for migratory birds. Parking areas are available at the Little Lemmon Lake entrance off of Loop 12 and at the main Joppa entrance off of River Oaks.
