While the Renner Trail, which parallels Renner Road from Synergy Park Boulevard to Central Expressway, is actually located just across the county-line in Collin County, it is a vital component of both the City of Richardson's trail system and Dallas County's effort to create a comprehensive trail system as it provides a key 1.9-mile east-west trail within Richardson by connecting with the City's UTD/University Trail on the west and the Spring Creek/Central Trail on the east.  It also connects with two north-south dedicated bike lanes at Custer and at Collins (these two lanes contain a total of about 2.75 miles). Twelve-feet wide, the Renner Trail is nicely-landscaped and has several water fountains and stone work-trimmed rest areas and retaining walls along the way.
