Campion Trail South was the first trail project that the City of Irving and Dallas County undertook together.  The trail begins at Dallas County's Trinity River/Mountain Creek Preserve (which is located where Hunter Ferrell Road turns into Nursery) and extends in a northern/northeastern direction for four miles to connect with Trinity View Park which is a major City of Irving recreational facility.   Numerous amenities (benches, shaded pavilions, paved parking, and water fountains) are either available along the way or at either end of the trail.  The City and the County desire to ultimately have this trail with connect both the with the Lone Star Trail to the west in Grand Prairie and to the other segment of Irving's Campion Trail to the north.
