Over 200,000 cases of invasive breast cancer are diagnosed in the United States every year. Up to 40,000 die of the disease annually. Although the incidence of breast cancer among African-American women is lower than other groups, African-American women are significantly more likely to die from the disease. That’s why the work of the Sisters Network is so important in raising awareness of breast cancer among African-American women and assisting those impacted by the disease with information and support. I hope you will take a moment to visit the Sisters Network website and learn more about their Mission and programs.
