Recording Division

2ND Floor Records Building
The Recording Section Issues and Files Marriage License, Birth Records, Real Estate and Real Property records and issues certified copies.  Marriage License office is located at 509 Main Street, up the handicap ramp.

Probate Division

The Probate Courts have jurisdiction over Guardianship of Incapacitated Persons, Decedent's Estates, Trusts matters and Ancillary Law Suits.

Trust Division

Room 120-A (First Floor)
The Trust Section is responsible for the management of the Funds in the Registry of the Court which includes awards to minors from Civil or Probate actions.

Criminal Division

The Criminal Section is responsible for the filing and upkeep of all misdemeanor records.   There are 13 class A and B Misdemeanor Courts and a class C Appeals Court.

Collections Division

The Collections Department collects court cost and fines for Dallas County Criminal Misdemeanor Courts with various payment plan options.

Civil Division

3rd Floor Records Building
The Civil Section of the County Clerk's Office files and processes lawsuits for the five County Courts at Law of Dallas County. The jurisdiction of the County Courts at Law of Dallas County begins at $200.00 and has concurrent jurisdiction with the District Court in civil cases regardless of the amount in controversy.
