Preliminary DFIRMs & FIS Dated June 22, 2007
FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) Region 6, under the U.S. Department of Homeland Security for the NFIP (National Flood Insurance Program), has released Preliminary copies of the DFIRMs (Digital Flood Insurance Rate Maps) and FIS (Flood Insurance Study) for Dallas County, Texas, dated June 22, 2007. In addition to the jurisdictions and communities within Dallas County, said DFIRM Panels and FIS Reports include the surrounding Unincorporated Areas (i.e. areas not located within a City’s Limits; also identified as NT for No Town under DCAD (Dallas County Appraisal District).

These preliminary maps and study have not been approved by FEMA (i.e. with an Effective Date), and have been distributed to the jurisdictions and communities in the Dallas County area for review and comments only.

This Preliminary DFIRM section includes a Map Index through which the respective individual DFIRM panels may be accessed. Within the Map Index, simply click on the desired region to retrieve the detailed DFIRM map for that region. An “Index” button within each individual DFIRM recalls the overall Map Index.

The FIS section consists of nine volumes, each of which includes a Table of Contents (beginning on the third actual page, numbered “i”), through which the other volumes may be accessed. Within the Table of Contents, click on the “Volume” header to retrieve that volume of the report (i.e., click on “VOLUME 1” to retrieve Volume 1). The following link is an extracted Table of Contents which serves as a portal to the volumes (so that you can avoid downloading an entire volume that you do not need):

Revised Preliminary DFIRMs & FIS Dated September 28, 2010
FEMA Region 6, under the U.S. Department of Homeland Security for the NFIP, released Revised Preliminary copies of the DFIRMs (Digital Flood Insurance Rate Maps) and FIS (Flood Insurance Study) for Dallas County, Texas, dated September 28, 2010, subsequently after receiving comments, revisions, etc., from the jurisdictions and communities within Dallas County re: the Preliminary DFIRMs & FIS Dated June 22, 2007. In addition to the jurisdictions and communities within Dallas County, said DFIRM Panels and FIS Reports include the surrounding Unincorporated Areas (i.e. areas not located within a City’s Limits; also identified as NT for No Town under DCAD (Dallas County Appraisal District).

These maps and study have also not been approved by FEMA (i.e. with an Effective Date), and have been distributed to the jurisdictions and communities in the Dallas County area for review and comments only. FEMA has notified each jurisdiction and community requesting their comments and questions. Please note seven (7) Panel maps “On Hold” pending Levee Certification in the Cities of Dallas and Irving are not included in the Revised Preliminary DFIRMs. Said maps are no’s. 310, 320, 330, 340, 345, 485, and 505.
