The UTD/University Trail is a 3.5-mile trail that reaches Richardson's western city limits, that connects several neighborhoods,  that provides direct access to the University of Texas at Dallas which has an enrollment of over 17,000 students, and that connects with the Renner Trail. The UTD/University Trail is also intersected by the Waterview dedicated bike lane which, with a length of two miles, provides the trail with a connection to the City's southern boundary at Spring Valley Road. Located in both Dallas County and Collin County, it was funded from both entities and is one of the few trails in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area to have received funding from more than one county.
