Patrick Kirlin is the Chief of Division C of the Dallas District Attorney’s Office. Division C includes the Organized Crime Division, the Specialized Crime Division, the Gang Unit and The Community Response Team. As Chief of Division C Pat supervises twenty six attorneys, eleven investigators and three support staff.
Pat received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Texas at Arlington and a Master of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Texas at Arlington before graduating with a law degree from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 1987.
Pat has been with the Dallas District Attorney’s Office for twenty-seven years. During his years with the DA’s office, Mr. Kirlin has worked in the Child Abuse Division (1989-1990), the Organized Crime Division, (1990-1993), and as a felony chief prosecutor in District Court for 10 years (1993-2003). During his career at the DA’s office, Pat has tried, among others, capital murder, murder, manslaughter, aggravated sexual assault, aggravated robbery, aggravated assault, organized crime, child abuse, burglary, drug and theft cases.
Pat is the most experienced attorney within the office regarding death penalty cases and leads many of the trainings for young prosecutors.
