Dewey MitchellDewey Mitchell is the Chief of the Administrative Division of the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office. The Administrative Division includes seven felony district courts as well as Financial Services, Records, Support Staff, and the Victim Witness Departments. He supervises 21 prosecutors, 7 investigators and numerous support staff. The prosecutors in this division routinely deal with cases involving allegations of domestic violence, sexual assault, robbery, burglary, murder and capital murder.

Dewey is a native of Oklahoma and received both his undergraduate degree and Juris Doctorate for the University of Oklahoma. Upon being licensed to practice law in 2001, Dewey did two years of corporate law in the Dallas area for Strausberger and Price LLC.

March of 2003 began Dewey’s career as a prosecutor with the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office. He has tried numerous complex cases and been on two death penalty teams.
